Here’s your chance to build a gingerbread house and win a great $ prize!

Participation Categories:

• Professional (Chefs/Caterers).......... 1st Prize $500.00

All professional category houses become the property of Christmas in St. Michaels and will be offered for sale to benefit this year’s beneficiaries

• Adult.......... 1st Prize $500.00

Adults who wish to donate their houses for sale will have their entry fee waived.

• Children under 12.......... 1st Prize $100.00

Children under 12- no entry fee.

Entries must be delivered on Saturday, December 1st between 11:00 and 4:00 at 308 Talbot Street (next door to St. Luke’s Church) A demonstration and instruction session on building a gingerbread house will be held sometime in November. Watch this space for more news!

Judging will be held on Sunday, December 2nd . All houses will remain on display through Sunday, December 9th

Contest Rules: Participants must register for the competition by November 16th. Adult division entries must consist of gingerbread (wall, roof, etc.), no graham crackers or cookies. Decorations on houses should be edible. Foil or plastic wrapped candies should be free of their wrappers. The completed house should be attached to a base to allow it to be free standing. The base should be covered (concealed) with something edible such as icing, candies, etc. Houses will be judged on originality of design and overall appearance.
